  Whoa. Molly Winters was wearing the hell out of those jeans. Josh watched as she came striding into the hotel lounge, her slim hips swinging, high heeled boots accenting each confident step. Like all of the Gentex team, she'd gone up to her hotel room to change out of her business suit and into something more casual after they'd returned from the convention hall. She'd looked amazing in her slim pant suit earlier and she looked even more amazing now.

  He was surprised that after their morning run and then being on her feet most of the day in their booth she was still up for wearing the high heeled boots, but he sure wasn't sorry. She had been livening his work week as eye candy since the day she started working for their biotech company three years ago. Not that it was appropriate to comment or act on, he reminded himself firmly.

  “Here comes Molly,” Bruce, one of their engineers, said, waving his hand to her.

  Molly smiled her dynamite smile and pointed to the bar. “I'll just get a drink and join you. Need anything?”

  “I'd take another glass of red,” their boss Lupita, VP of Marketing and Sales, piped up.

  “Sure thing. Josh?” she looked at his half empty glass.”

  “Twist my arm,” he said.

  She returned with three glasses of wine and delivered them easily.

  “You're good at that,” Lupita commented.

  “I waitressed my way through college,” she grinned. “How did the meeting with the President of Antac go?”

  Lupita grimaced. “I got spanked.”

  Molly's face flushed and she blinked rapidly several times. Josh took a sip of his wine and watched her, intrigued. Was Molly Winters a spanko? He watched her swallow convulsively.

  “Wh-what do you mean?” Molly asked, her voice quavering.

  “I mean he hated the proposal, he smacked my ass for taking so long to get it to him, and he pretty much left it with 'we'll think about it.'”

  “Ugh. I'm sorry to hear that,” she said, recovering somewhat.

  Lupita shrugged. “I convinced him to let me take him to dinner, so I won't be joining you guys tonight. Bruce, I'll need you with me to talk about the equipment, if we get that far.”

  Bruce, a former army engineer, was not the type to ever complain to a superior. “Sure thing,” he said. Molly gave him a commiserating look.

  “Looks like that leaves you and I,” Josh said, trying not to sound as thrilled as he felt.

  “You two and the Bakers,” Bruce said, indicating their CEO and his wife who had just entered the lounge. Joe Baker was the elderly founder of the company. He had left his dress slacks and button down on but was wearing white sneakers. Damn.

  “He looks like he's trying to imitate a rap star,” Josh said in a low voice.

  Molly giggled, a musical sound that made him light up from the inside out. He winked at her.

  “You ready for dinner?” Mr. Baker asked.

  Everyone stood. “We have a meeting with Antac and Steve and Dale are staying in their hotel rooms,” Lupita said.

  “So it's just Josh and I,” Molly said brightly. “How are you doing, Karen?” she said greeting Mr. Baker's wife with a hug. “Find anything good while shopping today?”

  Molly had a way with people, which was why she was the star sales rep for Gentex. Josh was her international counterpart, working with their distributors in other countries. The two women walked ahead, Karen Baker's society lady drawl droning on as she filled Molly in on her day of shopping excursions in Vancouver while they had been working the trade show. Josh watched the swing of her long brown hair, the shape of her muscular butt, so beautifully accented by her perfectly fitting jeans. She was using a black silk scarf through her belt loops instead of a belt. He had a sudden vision of using that silk scarf to tie her wrists. Or blindfold her. Or both. Don't go there.

  They walked several blocks up from the boutique hotel that Mr. Baker had selected for their stay to an elegant restaurant he'd seen that he wanted to try. Josh slid into the booth next to Molly, feeling acutely aware of her as his leg brushed her thigh. Mr. Baker ordered a bottle of wine for the table and started quizzing the two of them about their day at the convention.

  “What meetings do you have tomorrow, Josh?”

  “I just have to meet with the distributor for Germany, and then I'm working the booth the rest of the day.

  “Ah, just the krauts, eh?” Mr. Baker said,

  “Joe! You can't call them krauts! That is totally offensive,” Mrs. Baker exclaimed.

  Molly choked on her wine trying to hide her giggles. He nudged her leg gently with his own to acknowledge the humor, which sent her into a second fit of giggles.

  “I'm sorry, I haven't eaten all day and the wine is going to my head,” she apologized. “I just have the giggles now.”

  Mr. Baker looked at her indulgently. Like his wife, he was exceedingly fond of Molly, to the point where some of her female co-workers made snide remarks about him only promoting good-looking women. Josh had always defended her because Mr. Baker wasn't responsible for her promotions for one thing-- Lupita was—and because he knew Mr. Baker liked her for the same reason her customers liked her-- she was a people person.

  Molly hoped the food came soon because she was definitely
getting tipsy. She was grabbing her hot co-worker's thigh, for God's sake! She and Josh had been friends for as long as she'd worked at Gentex, but she'd never felt this kind of chemistry with him before. Of course, until five months ago, she'd been in a relationship, so she wouldn't have been open to the vibes, even if they were there. Now, sitting shoulder to shoulder to her handsome co-worker, she was feeling so turned on that she was having images in her mind of the two of them crawling under the table for a quickie.

  Mrs. Baker was droning on about how the internet had changed things. “My son, he buys everything through A-OL.” She pronounced the O and L together instead of separately.

  Josh leaned over and said in a low voice. “Yeah, I buy everything on A-hole, too, don't you?”

  She totally lost it in another fit of giggles. It was so bad that she actually ducked under the table as if she were picking up a dropped napkin. She stayed down there, shaking with silent laughter until she felt Josh's hand resting on her back as if to quiet her. She came up straight faced, clamping her lips together, unable to look at Josh. The food finally arrived and she got busy filling her empty belly to soak up the three glasses of wine she'd had.

  “So, have any of you read this Fifty Shades of Gray that's all the rage now?” Josh asked.

  She nearly choked on her food and caught him smirking at her when she chanced a look. To her utter astonishment, Mrs. Baker said, “Yes, we just finished it in my reading group. You know, most of those ladies don't even read the books-- they just come to socialize, so I picked the randiest parts for them to read aloud to discuss.”

  Molly lost it again, this time not bothering to hide her giggles. “That's really funny, Karen. What did the ladies think of it?”

  “Well they were shocked, of course,” the old woman said with a little smirk. “Have either of you read it?”

  “No, I haven't. But I hear it's changing sex lives all across the country,” Josh drawled.

  Molly felt another surge of lust for him. She peeked at him from under her lashes and found he was looking down at her with a little smile playing at his lips. She dropped her eyes and hid her own smile.

  “Have you read it, Molly?” Josh asked. For some reason, his tone sounded a little too innocent to her. As if he somehow knew how much that book had turned her on. But that was ridiculous-- how could he possibly know that her interests lay that way?

  “Er, um, yes. I have. I was not overly impressed with the writing, but the idea was...ah...” Oh God. Was she blushing?

  “Interesting?” he prompted.

  “Yes,” she said lamely. Then trying to recover, “As well as the story of how the author got it published. You know, by starting as fan fiction. There was a story on NPR about it.”

  “Oh yeah, I heard that story, too.”

  She pictured Josh as Christian Grey and felt a zing low in her belly. He was the full package-- late twenties like her, smart, handsome, successful, fit... Very fit. The two of them ran together in the mornings when they traveled on business and she happened to know he was constructed of chiseled muscle and power. Why hadn't she ever fallen for him before? Because dating people from work is a mistake, she told herself firmly.

  She ordered coffee and chocolate mousse after dinner because she always ordered dessert when traveling on the company tab and because she really needed the chocolate to satisfy the waves of lust that were pumping through her. She ate the entire thing and licked the spoon, suddenly conscious of Josh's eyes on her. She couldn't help herself, she gave the spoon one more slow lick, deliberately meeting and holding his eyes, and watched as his pupils dilated and his face took on a hungry look.

  He wanted her. And she wanted him. Well why shouldn't they have a little fun? He wasn't dating anyone, as far as she knew. People hooked up with co-workers on business trips all the time. She shivered a bit with the thought of him dominating her. Yes. She was going for it.

  “You running in the morning?” she asked Josh when they reached the hotel lobby.

  “Of course. How does 6:30 am sound?”

  “Sounds great. Do you want to go check out the workout room right now, just to see what they have?” she asked as casually as she could. She was trying to disengage the two of from the Bakers without arousing suspicion. She prayed he was on board with her plan.

  “Sure, let's go.” He pressed the elevator button for level two and they stepped off together, bidding the Bakers good night. She hesitated when she got off, looking right and left, and felt Josh's hand at her low back, guiding her in the right direction. It was such a subtle gesture. A manly gesture of guiding a woman. She tried to remember if he had done it to her before. Was he on board? The elevator doors had fully closed behind them and Josh stopped. He took out his room key card and held it up.

  “I have an exercise room I could show you,” he said with a smirk.

  She smiled slowly, seductively, she hoped. “Which floor?”

  “Eighth.” He turned back and hit the elevator button to go up. They stepped into the elevator and when the doors closed she launched herself at him, the wine still giving her confidence. She backed him into a corner, lips glued to his. He was laughing, one arm wrapped around her waist, one hand squeezing her ass. “You look so hot in these jeans,” he said between kisses.

  “Mmm.... do I?” She pulled away at hit the emergency stop button on the elevator. “Have you ever done it in an elevator?”
